What do you do outside of training? I work and study at the University of Canberra, currently studying a Bachelor of Management with a major in Entrepreneurship. I also studied Forensic Science before that.
What is a surprising fact about you? I am internationally published in a book of poetry. I have also done some acting, having performed in a few theatre productions.
What is one thing you are good at ? Rapping, especially when drunk. Just call me the New Slim Shady - I’m already standing!
How could you describe yourself in 3 words? Lazy... Just kidding! Energetic, Funny and Competitive.
What do you believe differentiates muay thai with other sports? The need to be mentally strong and self-motivated. Muay thai is just as much mental as it is physical, in every aspect, and not just getting in the ring. You are constantly learning new things at training, if you aren’t there mentally you will have a hard time picking it up, or end up getting punched in the face. It also takes a lot of self-motivation to put in the hard work and push through even when you are having a bad day.
Which class do you like best, Techniques or Heavy Bags and why? I like a combination of both, because one would not be effective without the other.
At training, what is your biggest challenge and what do you do to manage it? Overthinking and getting frustrated. I just take a step back, compose myself and push forward.
